Profile of the General Group Beverages PLC

General Group Beverages PLC has established presence in Ethiopia in 2016 with the purposes of engaging in manufacturing of bottled water and plastic products used as inputs for construction of building, beverages, wearing apparel including sport wears and processing of fruit and vegetables.

General Group Beverages PLC is established initially as fully owned by the Garipoglu Group of Companies of Turkey. The Garipoglu Group of Companies, established in 1970’s, has been evolving and expanding from textile ginning into a multiline industrial manufacturing of a wide range of consumer goods including food, non –alcoholic beverages, kitchen wares, PVC profile and other products by employing advanced technology, dynamic and professional management system.

General Group Beverages PLC went through partnership in 2020 with Beker General Trading PLC to create various synergies in industrial manufacturing and marketing&selling of high quality products to Ethiopia Market and export to European Countries, Turkey, Middle-East and African Countries.

Beker General Trading PLC has various businesses in Ethiopia including Pharma; manufacturing plants: Can Factory, Cement and Pole Manufacturing Factory, Han Plast Factory, Coal Mining, Soda Chlor Alkali Factory. As Agriculture there are South Agro Industry and Yirgacheffi Coffee Farm. Company exports Coffee, Sesame Seeds and Beans.

General Group Beverages PLC has established its presence in Ethiopia in accordance to the commercial code (Proclamation #166/1960). It has obtained investment permits from Ethiopian Investment Commission and Tax Identification Number (TIN) from Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority (ERCA) to engage in manufacturing of plastic products used as inputs for construction of building, beverages, wearing apparel including sport wears and processing of fruits and vegetables.

The group has secured 6.5 hectares of land in Cha Cha town from Debre Berhan Administration for establishing Water Bottling Plants. A warehouse occupying 4400 square meters of land has been constructed. Water bottling factory is in the market with Avante and Pearl Brands.
